Guest strapper Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 without a 2nd thought, john and pat webber, 4-5 weeks on the trot this year, topping the welsh north road fed s/east route, and winning the lilliers national, won several nationals north and south east. dennis ford is an exellent flyer but against webber in fed birdage size there is no comparison. both are likeable and great flyers. dennis is one for the distance races while webber will chip in too but is better upto say 300-400 mls.
Guest strapper Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Alun Maull i dont think alan races anymore, i think the thread was about racing today. if im wrong i apologize to alun.
Guest asha Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Wilf Reed, Gordon & June Mears two totally different setups, one big,one small as a postage stamp, both Multiple 600/700mile national winners.most importantly, novices take note...big winners OFF the line of flight. ;)

Guest asha Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 but birdage has to feature when accessing who is better. What a silly statement to make, nubers mean NOTHING,its the CLASS of the birds taking part that`s important,no wonder you lot on here buy the crap that`s on the for sale section,it makes me laugh
harky Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 while we are on the subject of welsh fanciers has anybody got a contact telephone no for john bekinsale ,your help would be appreciated :) :) :)

Guest ben Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 ;D ;D :you certainly cannot educate pork!

Strapper it depends on the big factor 'what distance we are assessing a fancier at. Unfortunately the longer races do not get as high a birdage as shorter ones but this does not mean the performance is ot as good. We have all seen fanciers pile big numbers into short races but by time the long ones come not many go. You have to remember I prefer 500 miles plus. So I would judge that fancier as best and really not give hoot about birdage as long as calibre of other competing fanciers was high and sent numbers by fancier not high. To me 2008 season Dennis Ford has been outstanding, come on any BICC win into Wales is great never mind an International. Get a map out look at it and just imagine what that bird has done. Hence for me Dennis Ford. But saying that the names you have mentioned are great flyers and i would welcome birds into my loft from any of them. Lets chane question. Which currently best sprint loft in Wales? Which currently best Middle distance(200-400miles) loft in Wales? Which currently best distance(400 plus miles) loft in Wales?
Guest Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 i dont think alan races anymore, i think the thread was about racing today. if im wrong i apologize to alun. The thread says best fancier in Wales, that's very clear????? Whether he is racing doesn't take away from the fact that he is the best fancier in Wales without a doubt, a master racer when racing and a master breeder now with an encyclopedic knowledge of our sport, Asha mentioned some great fanciers but for me Maully's above them

Which currently best distance(400 plus miles) loft in Wales? hi wayne i didnt mean sprint against distance , what i was referring too is birdage of any equal distance .ie 450mls south or 450mls south east...but greater birdage on one of them....500 birds south compared to 1000 birds south east, which would you rather win?..surely it would be more recognition for winning the south east because of birdage..this is what i was trying to get across. i was not knocking the quality of fanciers in smaller feds . wining either would be great .
