Hello again! I can see this novice bit getting used by me mainley l.o.l

Todays problem is... I have two rounds of young birds, ones that have been flying out for a month or so & some fresh ones that i picked up off the very generous MADMAXLOFTS! What a mr, without him i would not be racing pigeons, 14 birds he gave me without ever meeting me, as i said before mate ANYTHING i can sort for you just let me know (hows your friend finding the rollers?) anyway there are 2 ages of pigeons & having the younger ones seems to be messing up the first sets routine i.e making them land/not fly as long, Do i just put up with this until they become stronger or fly them seperate till they become stronger?

Cheers again, james

In an ideal situation it would be better if you flew those seperate,as they are at different stages of development, let them back together, when you are starting to train them.

Agree that you must treat different aged youngsters as 2 seperate groups. If you don't, the end result is you will probably lose most of the younger group, the older ones being stronger will go ranging for miles, taking the younger ones with them on a one-way trip.

When the second group are ranging, then both groups can be run together as one.

personally have not had much of a problem with this, mainly because I do not have room to have birds of different ages kept and flying separately so they all go in the one loft and over the years I have lost very few young birds off the loft
