WATCH OUT your birds might be next on the list we had two men at the back of the garden last night getting in to the pens, our dog was barking for 3/5 mins looking up the top of the pens i kept talling him to go to bed from the bed room window. he kept on on on i got dressed and went to him to see what was rong with him and at this point i notice a fag glare at the side of the pen i got the dog and went in turned the lights off and stayed for a minit and got the tourch but didnt put it on and went through the front door and went up the side of the house with the dog and then spotted two of them i set the  dog on them but they got over next doors fence and as that the dog got one of them in the back of the leg so if you know any one with a dog bite in the back leg thats the one i want to have a quiet word in his ear they both left with no birds i went in the pens they went in and see in front of me seed bag 6/8 birds in each bag. birds are ok the dog is ok im ok but one of the men isnt. well iv let the dog loss tonight hope they comes back the dog needs feeding he needs alot of meat as hes a german shepard ex-police dog. PLEASE BE WARNED of this for your birds sake.....

Glad they did not get any mate, you were lucky this time thanks to your dog, now please everyone take this advice I am fed up of repeating this on several web sites :::

Go to Argos/Boots/Mothercare etc and purchase Childs Monitors (the sort you plug in next to your childs bed and you plug the other one in next to yours to hear your child throughout the night).

Plug one in your pen and put the other next to your bed believe me you can hear a pin drop, any body in your garden or neighbours gardens you will hear them right away and can deal with it in your own way.

Put it on your xmas wish list the missus might think it strange but believe me when I tell you its better than any alarms and with the added bonus you will soon hear if your birds have any respiratory problems with sneezing etc. ;) ;)

its becoming a common problem these days, i would sugest that you look out for them coming back. i would be pi**ed if i had been chewd up like that. (not that i would steal from anyone but if i was in his shoes.

We had 3 lofts broke into by us on the same night about this time last year, all within 500 yards of one another about 150 birds taken, we are also in the West Midlands. None of them birds have ever returned I suspected they were stolen at the time to eat and I think I was right. :( :( :(

Very strange mate, I said at the time they were stolen to eat purely for the fact that 2 out the 3 lofts that were broken into had not raced for a few years and even when they did they never won anything. Plus with nothing ever returned that confirmed my suspicions.  :( :( :(

Could be right about being stolen to eat, Similar thing happening around here recently with poultry, police seem to think its 'travellers'

well as long as thread doesnt incite crime or glorify crime then thread will stay , i do think that fanciers in your area do need warning , i hope you reported to police as the person that was bit may need a tetnus ;)
