Guest Vic Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 After some of the crap that has been bandied about lately on basics , How about a wind of change? Let us call it. "The Clock approach system" as the military have used for years in and out. e.g "Biggles! Watch your back at twenty past" I say no more! I race my birds into Liverpool and have done so for many years to the same location. Now my birds , IF coming direct fom the south road liberation point, should come from a 5 past position. But unless things are not normal, they come from the quarter to direction. Are we in unfortunate positions, or simply stupid by trying to compete with . the guys who actually think they are our superiors. LOL
kirky Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 my birds normaly come from the south at 6 but this year due to winds have been comming at 5 past in other words comming back from the north.
Beanz Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 Pigeons will always use the wind so on land the wise men from the East will have the advantage if the wind is Westerly as in a normal year 86% are Westerly that tells its own story, not saying that good flyers won't win but the % is with the East. Guest spin cycle Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 mostely my birds come from 6-7 o'clock....which is no good really allthough i can win the club. coming from 11o'clock means they've tracked the coast around the 'wash'....and from 2 o'clock means they've crossed the water, they don't do this to often unfortunately. if you are serious about pigeon racing i think you have to be prepared to move to get a decent position.
