Birds have been in new loft over a week now.

Dont know if its my imagination but they seem to be looking better every day. Reaally starting to look like real crackers. I am staring to thing the old loft was pooer than I had first thought. I reaaly have gone to town with ventilation and theres a huge ammount of fresh air gets into the loft but hopefully no draughts. The feathering and sheen of the birds really stands out now.

Do you think a little more than a week could really make so much difference?

hi Mac, The saying,"a new broom sweeps clean" could well fit your present situation, maybe knowing old loft was wrong, you let things slip, and now your happy with the new loft, you have got back into the groove and are back on top of your managment.

I know what your saying asha but the old loft was not really ideal and I did strugle to keep it properly dry and couldnt figure out a way to get decent ventilation as it was an old coal shed that had been modified and added to etc (before I probably understood what was required and why).

Certainly feel I am on the right road now and will make the most of the new loft.

I see what you mean, that old damp dark coalshed would have carried pleny of latent problems waiting to pull down the birds.
