GREENGRASS Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 pure rubbish mate as i can tell you i know two of the people who were on the phones bidding today, between them them they spent over £4,000 to obtain more of Ian`s Jos Thone bloodlines and the Koopman x Thones. What really amazes me is why people don`t call down and visit Ian and order some late breeds because you get superb birds at very reasonable prices, i know this because i visited him and bought 10 a few years ago but i left with a lot more because he gifted me some real crackers including the sire of a youngster this year who was never outside the top 100 in the rpra one loft race programme and in the final race was 37th open. his full sister was 1st fed this year and is now the property of pigeon basics no1 drunk alf.......................................... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D sorry big chap..................... ;) ;)
stephen steyert Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 i see ian has just moved down to east cleveland i hope he has as much success at his new location as he did at his old
just ask me Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 success brings rumours all these rumours are really a sign of how well the man is flying just a question i bought at Blackpool and when i was n the phone my name was said to the room each time i was on the phone its open and transparent should it not be done more often

steve d Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 I went to a sale held in winter gardens 10 oclock Saturday morning the fancier who lives by me and a very good flier had 19 lots for sale included in them were about 7/8 direct Frans De Mayers, I went to buy a cock imagine how happy I was to get him for £50, a lot of them unsold, the highest priced bird was £110. I was amazed these Frans De meyers birds fetched 1000's at a sale held 2 months ago at Telford. I actually felt sorry for the guy has he his agenuine bloke with results to back up his claims yet these birds fetched pennies, I bet he struggled to cover the advertising costs in the homing world.
Wiley Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 alot of birds in auctions werent making no money at all one sale put at least 14-15 back as they couldnt get a bid of 30 quid
Guest pigeondave Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Perhaps thats good thing wiley lot of the prices that birds being sold for now arent exactly within lot of us normal working peoples range and way things are for lot at the moment with the current financial situation going be even less so Think there are lot of people whether it selling pigeons or whatever business they are in going to come down to being in the real world soon and making the sort of money that they have been able to do in the past not going to be as easy as it was got to agree with you there rose.i dont know what planet they live on with some prices.welcome to the real world.
