have seen it with young birds , sometimes you have to work out what went wrong , flying ybs with old hens after weaned the old birds know where home is and can take young squeakers that arent settled up and away and gone as struck up too soon  , some just dont have the love of home or have the call of the wild or no brains either way i'd split pairings and try a different pairing  :)

also too many birds a major cause of this i kind of proved it last 2 year a friend was losing 20 to 30 birds every year i told him to breed 30 birds less he did last 2 year and now id loses are below 10 i think a loft works it self out try it

have done this with a few pll and it worked breed only 30 if an average u are left with 30 every year now a disaster race cant come into it work out your average looses it works  ;)

i beleive this to be true [no  so sure in this case, could be many reasons]  but in the above post , it is a well known fact that our modern day pigeon is derived from the rock dove, the true rock dove usually nesting in caves ,cliffs etc ,, and would keep on breeding as long as their food is plenty,, how far could this go, in breeding and  inbreeding, they would be standing on top of each other :)then freaks ,,,, i beleive that nature makes sure of this outcross by , when over crowded, causes a fly away ,, a flyaway with young stock, that would find another a  lesser  populated colony in some far off way, from this overcrowded colony, therefore settle and cross breed again untill the same happened again,, i beleive our modern day pigeon still posseses this instict,, being one of the reasons of a flyaway with yb,s  :) only my opinion :)
