I purchased one of those Bull Boxes some years ago after seeing it demonstrated at Blackpool by the guy who made them, his name is Andy Heal and he ran a business called Homestead Joinery somewhere down the other side of Bath,up until this year he as allways had a stall at Blackpool selling pigeon stuff  but he wasn,t there this time, there was a video issued with the box that showed you how to use it but unfortunatly I sent it to a pigeon basics member in Scotland to have a look at and i,ve never seen it since, the box as a large section in the middle where the cock goes and also two hen boxes on either side of that.I dont have the box any more though.

did you use it though Tony?

Yes I did use it and just realised I still have a hen which was bred from the bull cock that I used at the time,a 2002 rung bird.It worked very well but you had to have 4 pairs of birds spare which you could float the eggs under from the hens which were paired to the bull cock.

Hi Fellers

Thanks for the help so far. I still have not got a drawing or picture of a Bull Box. I got pictures of jealosy boxes but no bull boxes.

At the moment I use widowhood boxes with the addition of a central partition to stop the pairs from getting together. The birds are the widowhood cocks paired to hens I will race later. The widowhood cocks are the dummies.

All the Ybs reared by the widowhood cocks will be from two bull cocks. My problem is that I want to rear more from three really good cocks using the stock cocks as the dummies. That is why I am interested in the Bull Boxes. The way I do it now takes a heck of a lot of time and I want to try to find an easier way of doing it.
