gareth on the oslo race point all birds will go a the shortest point of water if they dont i can tell you they should not be in the race pannier as not in condition to tackle a strech of water the way i went for oslo was to give most fanciers a go at the longest points i certainly dont think you boys are benifeting none at hamburg you mention bad weather who is going to liberatein bad weather another thing they wouldnt be bothered with hawks or pylons wires  etc and the amount you would have to magnify a pigeons eye coming up to the waterthey would see mainland now gareth how many smashes has the SNFC HAD TAKE EVERY SNFC RACE I CAN ASSURE YOU THERES A LOT DOESENT EVEN LEVE THE RACE POINT . YOU MENTION WHY THE BHW SPONSERED ITS THE MAIN PIGEON WEEKLY PAPER AND TO FINNISH ITS MORE VIABLE TO HAVE OTHER ORGANISATIONS INVOLVED ALL YOU NEED IS A START  8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Walter you quote the pigeons go to the shortest point of water, it is a topic that should possibly be started on another thread because it is a very interesting one, on this note do pigeons actually know the geological atlas of the world, my own belief is that pigeons race direct from A to B with allowance for wind.

If pigeons do fly from A to B or race to at the shortest stretch of water, then from Hamburg the pigeons will have to fly before they hit  UK soil in the region of  shortest Norwich 359 miles to the longest Peterhead 532 miles  compared with Oslo shortest Peterhead 480 miles and the longest Norwich 600 miles.

I have no doubt which is the fairest to the pigeons and members of the sport, if on the other hand that all the pigeons will cross at the shortest point which is to Peterhead from Oslo then what chance have the pigeons got in England as they would only arrive in Peterhead at close to nightfall with another 400 miles next day to the boys in Bristol which give them a total distance of 880 miles for there pigeons to fly.
