Guest Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 It doesn't matter if your the best or worst member, there's no need for creating bad feeling on the forum and to be honest there's enough bad feeling within pigeon racing as it is :-/ With all due respects the previous competition to vote on the person who contributed the most to the forum should not have been allowed to carry on either. And to be honest that caused more than enough bad feeling on the forum.
Guest spin cycle Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Lots of factual comments get thrown away on this site which after all is a public forum and shouldnt be. We are not yet living in a police state! wrong...its not a public forum. its more akin to a 'club' you obey the rules or you leave. you have that choice. in this case if you don't like the way this forum is run...you are free to look for a forum more 'akin' to your tastes. of course some have done this..yet still see fit to come back here and seem to want to cause trouble.

And who is that aimed at. It is a public forum, everyone is free to join, and is entitled to an opinion. Are you whiter than white, have you never broken rules along the way in your life?
Guest spin cycle Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 And who is that aimed at. It is a public forum, everyone is free to join, and is entitled to an opinion. Are you whiter than white, have you never broken rules along the way in your life? well it wasn't aimed at you bob...or neccesarily anyone, merely an observation. but it ISN'T a public forum because you have to join in order to post and so it is more akin to a club. no i'm not 'whiter than white'...but i wasn't aware i'd claimed to be.

I agree with the highlighted comment but only in the case of a forum which is privately owned such as this one. We as the members are guests on the site and also to be fussy the owners web space - granted no members, no site as such but it really is up to Richard in this case on any matter and his word is final and not really debatable (unless he wishes it to be!) The site as the standard code of conduct we sign up to means that any on of us can be removed without reason or explanation. I do think this is the one pigeon related website and maybe the only one in the world and certainly the UK that could take away 50 of its regular posters etc and survive but only just!

In which case I apologise. I will now make a general statement using your post as a basis ANYONE is free to join, and once joined, are entitled to an opinion, even if it is NOT necessarily the view of the majority. There is NOTHING in the rules to say you have to agree with what the majority think. As far as freedom of movement is concerned, I would hazard a guess and say that at least 90% of the members of this forum are members of at least one other pigeon related site and are not breaking any rules of this forum, so as for telling people they can "move on and find a forum more akin to their tastes" is out of order. It would appear that some peoples' views, that are not akin to your opinion, and that is what seems to be troubling you.

Guest spin cycle Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 believe me bob the last thing i want is an an arguement but i didn't say 'move on and find a forum more akin etc' ...i said people are ' free to look for a forum more akin'

Same meat different gravy mate ;D ;D ;D By the way I am not looking for an argument either, just expressing my opinion

Fair Play Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I think that cat is the alter ego of someone on this forum -

Sorry but it is a public forum as non members are able to access plenty of the site including this part to read. Not here to argue just stated a fact which you decided to pick up on for some reason. End of as far as I'm concerned!
Guest Owen Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I am sorry to see that there are people out there complaining. I hope we are able to communicate in blunt terms. OK we should avoid swearing and personal insults. But I hope we are not going to encourage censorship. I want us to be able to feel able to say what we want to. Pigeon Racing has got all sorts of problems and is often controlled by a select few. We need to embrace new and modern ideas and listen to what everyone has to say. I really don't want it to continue as a secret activity and I would like us to drag it into the modern world. Even if we offend a few along the way. If you don't like what is being said either deal with it or ignore it but please stop this carping. No censorship please.
Fair Play Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 If you are offended and post a reply it is removed - smacks of double standards
Guest Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 If you are offended and post a reply it is removed - smacks of double standards No it's the webmaster's standards
Guest Vic Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 No it's the webmaster's standards Before I venture forward, may I say that some of our so called moderators have been given a free hand , to whip any of our unruly crew on board , and keelhaul 'em when need be. To avoid mutinies, as some have already walked the plank since, will verify. But may vic reply to OLD YELLOW, Who surely must be a BOLD FELLOW. His yearling suggeston were fair. He started to waver , NOT IN HIS FAVOUR. It seems that our members don't care
Guest Vic Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Good morning , you cobbers. Still no replies re the fires.????????????????
