how NOT to curtail your breeding plans

last week I had to have a couple of days away from home due to work and while I was away it was one of the coldest periods of the winter so far.

No problem though, I prepared to lock up the loft leaving enough food and water for the birds, and leave them to enjoy a couple of days without being disturbed while they are breeding

Only one slight little problem I hadn’t noticed the feral pussy cat who sneaked in, and to make matters worse I shut the door and locked it behind me !!!!!!!

Fortunately it couldn’t get into the birds due to safety doors, but a few have left the eggs they were sitting on ... I apologise to those who have ordered young birds recently and will be in touch this week when I have calculated how many eggs have been lost, due to being chilled.
