Has to be pointed out that there are pro's and con's to all the ETS systems, but they are all very good at doing the job that they were built for.

What are we suposed to do with the other half of the team? OK HAHA  LOGICALY YOU ARE NOT HANDLING THE BIRD WHICH IS NO DOUBT STRESSED ENOUGH WITH COMPETING IN THE RACE NO MORE CHASING IT ROUND THE LOFT TO GET THE RUBBER RING OFF ITS LEG BEFORE YOU CAN CLOCK IT IN AND THE DOO DISNA HUV A ME,ORY AT THE NEXT RACE WHAT HAPPENED AT ITS LAST RACE AND DECIDES TO SIT ON THE ROOF

never catch the birds when they home, certainly don't chase them around the loft, thats what stall traps are for, no stress!

what would the members think would be the best clock for someone starting to race pigeons.considering cost, reliability spares etc.

this was the original question. of course ets is probably best because its the future...but for someone starting out ,IMO, wind up stb. i bought mine in 2005 for £50 and its done three seasons already. if i chuck it away now its still less than £17/season. don't t3s need servicing...and  a newbie might change their mind after a bit so not worth laying out on ets initially.

I have Bricon ETS and it is wonderful. I have three or four STBs and a good Toulet. Swap me something and you can have one of those if you like. Where do you live? I am at Talywain near Pontypool, South Wales.

Although I will be using a STB this coming season. They have surely passed their sell by date. They can only be worth their postage cost, don't you think? lol

I'm all for the ETS, it gives every one a fair chance once the pigeon has trapped. a lot of races has been lost after the pigeon has trapped, when you had to get hold of the bird take it's rubber off & time it in. For the senior members we are not as fast moving as we used tobe it is a god send ;)

THE DOWN SIDE OF THE ETS,  If for any reason some thing went wrong with it on race day you have no backup. :'(

With a Old system you can allways have a spear clock as stand by  :K)
