i didint want to over step the mark on the thread about kiran but its along the same lines posted new thread surely there are not many reasons to be making up more rules in a club surely we all fly under our own organisations i.e rpra shu ihu and so on its all this rule making in clubs meetings causes trouble take that rule for agreement take the top flyer top 3 flyers they could be flying for the top points winner in there federation and a guy in other club even in same town can throw 50 birds into the hamper is that fair i know guys will say mob flying but rules should be for everyone in a federation or organization not just one club they are just so many instances of these stupid rules that are made up in clubs by members in most cases to try hit the top flyer

this is the sort of crap that has pigeons the way it is people leaving the sport

my thinking is all fly under the same set of rules simple unless what has to be deemed as specaill circumstance comes up where they have to apply to there organisation for a rule change in the club

i would put an end to invitation clubs another source of trouble

if somebody is within the radius the club need a dam good reason why this person cant join

its all politics and crap

I  agree that it should be one set of rules for everybody but where do you start!

Whatever you propose some will agree and some won't, it will never be a level playing field and can never be!

When I moved to Essex there was i guy near me that only kept 12 oldbirds and had won far more in the club, fed and combine than most ever will dream of agains many big team flyers.

What ever limits, restrictions you put on won't make poor flyers any better, only they can raise there game to compete but in most cases they would rather run away and form an inferior club where they can win a club card or 2!

i think all clubs should have same set of rules for club flying and fed flying , any 2 bird or 4 bird clubs should be clubs within a club and be optional , members should be allowed to send as many birds as they like after all theres only so many prizes they can fill , quality will always beat quantity and besides these make it cheaper for otheres sending less birds , reducing birds been sent doesnt make for a better result it makes it look weak . I fly in a invitation club and anyone within our radius does get in we have even opened up to include people that have applied and is a great friendly club to fly in .

oh well here goes....i'm going to get slaughtered. having been in pigeons 4 years perhaps i've never grasped the passion of club/fed racing so i view things more as an outsider. firstly pigeon clubs are unusual in that you have cooperate with your rivals in order to compete with each other....the more members the more work can be shared around but this has to be balenced with the 'geography' to give all members a reasonable chance. secondly i view club racing as a bit of fun whilst building a team/learning the game/training the birds ....so that when your ability improves you can move onto the national ( or classic races). as a result i can't see the point of dominating the club result....because all you do is discourage new or 'weaker' opponents with the result that you have to do more work to fly against fewer birds. in my view its no good saying 'they should try harder' because its human nature. also i couldn't take any pleasure using money or mob to crush others not as fortunate. i have heard of fanciers who go into clubs crush them and then 'brag'...'i used to fly in anytown club, but i was to good for them and they closed up'. thats why , in my view, clubs must be left to determine their own fate...whether they live or perish. unfortunately there are going to be those left out and feeling aggrieved which is tough. but many club workers (IMO) would rather pack up than accept rules against their will....so these members will not get clubs because they'll close.
