Guest Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 I have an Irish mother and was born on the boat coming from Rosslare to Fishguard, and birth registered in Hertfordshire. So what does that make me Irish, Welsh or English. I know where I call home, and proud to be Irish although I have lived in England all my life.

Guest 67ghirl Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 My Great Grandfather was Irish - hence the 'McDermott' name!! which I'm proud of, so much so I gave my Boys double barrelled surnames as I'm the only one who can keep our family name going! My G- G'Dad married a Spaniard and when I visited Belfast last year was told in one of the 'Locals' I 'looked' Irish. Not sure if this was a compliment or not usually told I'm like an 'old hippy' or a Gypsy!!!!! lol
