well mate this does be strange some peple think that when there is phone number then they think the bird is special ...youngsters get lost fair enough ...some of mine did last year some rang some did nt they could be strayed and nobody has it ...with the wild ones ...i would nt worry and just race with whats left try give them as much schooling as you can and the best ones always arrive home ...

i always report strays but the owners never seem to want them back  i think ive sent 4 back in the last 2-3 years out of dozens  ive got a 08 cheq in at moment and the owner promised to ring me back by last weekend and still hasnt phoned and now isnt answering my messages left on his ansaphone >:(   ive heard all the excuses like ive been on my hols,or my ansaphone isnt working properly,or can you move it on for me,i cant afford to send for it etc but then i did report one that belonged to a very well known and succesful essex fancier and he did everything he could to make sure his bird was collected the next day and was pleased to know where his bird had ended up :)  i always send for mine and thank them for reporting them     debbie

i hate having birds reported....i only had 2 last year but both of them were dead. i did have a hen come home 2 weeks late with her tail feathers missing and a few 'work' their way home. i hate reporting strays as most don't want to send. i did have a couple who were prepared to though. i used to say i wouldn't bin birds....but is it kinder to do this than make them do a box journey and then be culled ? normally i single them up. but i did get a few down to london via a friend. i use telephone rings...i wonder if others think they may be special. what really annoys me is illegible or no wingstamp...harder to report..but also harder to get them a 'lift' in the right direction
