stewarty dove Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Hi i have just been reading about different breeds and pedigrees, i got my YB off a mate for free and not a clue what line or breed they are from . Will this effect them racing and should i be worried about this ???
jimmy_bulger Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 not realy good birds write theire own pedigree.
stewarty dove Posted September 29, 2008 Author Report Posted September 29, 2008 so you think that they will or may become good/bad racers with or without a pedigree. food for thought.
alex wight Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 best birds are in friendship m8
OLDYELLOW Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 a pedigree wont make it fly and if no good fold pedigree's up and make paper planes
stewarty dove Posted September 29, 2008 Author Report Posted September 29, 2008 never understood what you ment oldyellow ???
OLDYELLOW Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 a pedigree will only tell you whats written on it irrelivent to whats writen our aim is to win races so your bird could win with a pedigree and without a pedigree but having a pedigree wont make it win any more races than not having one
pjc Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 pedigrees are only as honest as the person who wrote it!!
alex wight Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Stuart you,ll be ok. Dont go splashing out on birds, the guys around and about where you live will help you. They are sometimes the best birds to get. Dont get me wrong reputations stand alone at times, just concentrate on getting up and running.

Guest Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 ive always found if you get birds from friends is off their best birds. and i always give off my best if you give off medeocre birds it makes you look bad. and people would think less of you. so the birds your friend gave you will be good ones find out what system he races and copy him dave
Guest the gers Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 the best pigeon i have had was given to me.

peterpau Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 Hi i have just been reading about different breeds and pedigrees, i got my YB off a mate for free and not a clue what line or breed they are from . Will this effect them racing and should i be worried about this ??? As long as your birds can't read they won't know what is expected from them. I would think your mate has done the best he can for you. My birds don't come with a long pedigree but I expect to compete at the highest level. A few years back I put my two entries for Pau, Bred from a stray Buscheart hen, on the table, and felt real hacked off cos the birds next to 'em were in a basket marked HM Queen. Funny thing is mine took a very respectable position. There royal counterparts didn't feature in the result though. Keep your money in your pocket, and enjoy not having lost money on birds that couldn't fly from the end o' the street.
