thunderboult Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 no why? a lot of people have been having problems with yb's dying using those black felts.
chris h Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 the nest mate of my dead chick was dead in the nest this morning :'( :'(
billy wilson Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 if they have both died looks as though old birds have not been feeding them also mabe died with the cold if old birds have not been sitting on them.it would not take long to die if they have been exposed to the cold
OLDYELLOW Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 and bath your birds regulary so natural oils on feathers are kept fresh and use nesting bowls with good ventilation and nest box floor grills under bowls keeps the air circulating , deaths on nest can occur for various reasons too much nesting material and not enough and sometimes inexperienced breeders can trample or sit ybs to tightly and crush the ybs other reasons are birds may be to geneticaly similar and inbred so breed unviable young birds or birds may be disturbed come off nest or if using lights havent had time to settle down when light turned off ;-) hope i have given a bit of food for thought ;-)
