Hold bird in 1 hand then with the other lean its head back between shoulders cupping wings at same time turn bird upside down let it settle for a couple of seconds if it just lays upside down in cup of hand its a hen if it struggles and flips itself over its a cock this is 100% but bird has to be approx 3 -4 months old as does not work when too young
