Babybird Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 How do I get them off the roof and in their loft? They are sitting on the garage roof and wont go in. Everytime I scare them off the roof they go for a fly to another roof and so on, Help!! First time out, first time pigeon keeper, they are hungry, one came in but the other two wont!!
Craig05 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Hi Mate i would suggest keeping them in for a few days, when you do feed them make them eat out of your hand and keep whistling and calling them while they eat. if they dont eat out of your hand, they dont get food. this worked for me and now when i call they run over each other to get through the trap.
Guest Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 they will come in when they are hungery or in the morning you need to cut down a bit on feed to control them
Babybird Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 so what is gonna happen? they gonna sit there all night? Still be there in the morning and come in when they are really hungry?
Novice Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 They should sit there all night unless they are frightened. Best just leave them till morning. We have all been there. There is nothing you can do. (or doo)
Craig05 Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 sorry, should have said in my last reply. try a shelf in the loft infront of the trap, put some corn on the shelf to allow the birds to see it when they are on the landing board.

Still be there in the morning and come in when they are really hungry? yes thats about the best you can hope for the important thing is keep them in for a couple of days and when you let them out shut the loft untill you are ready to get them in open the loft and shout them in feeding as they come in a little at a time they soon get to know if they dont come in when shouted they get nothing but you have to be firm with them (you contol them not the other way round)
