pjc Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 when you don't get your own reported it does make you wonder if its worth trying to help others when the majority of time you get crap in return!
Guest Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 when you don't get your own reported it does make you wonder if its worth trying to help others when the majority of time you get crap in return! youre quite right Phil , i always think if this was mine ,i would like it treated well and a phone call . my eldest son and i try and guess which answer i will recieve when i report , normally ..can you chuck it up , i am a pensioner cant afford to send for it.. or do you want to keep it . there are the odd exception of course . andy.
Guest numpty01 Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 remmber that you make the phone calls to rpra you phone the owner you feed and take care of it till its fit you think they would have curtasy to say thanks but no anyone wonder why the sports a mess
Guest stb Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 To be honest you get very few birds reported nowadays and to be honest i dont want any sent back in a box. A feed and water a bit of recovery and if they cant make home there not worth sending for . only my opinion. Think to many birds come back in boxes nowadays only to drop in at the next watering hole the next time.

Guest slugmonkey Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 The quality of bird is not in question its the fact that its the responsibility of the OWNER to take care of these birds I personally accept 10+ birds a year from people that have found them and yes it is usally the same answer when I contact the owners that they dont want the bird back which I understand but the problem is it makes us ALL look bad when these birds arent PROMPLY taken care of
Guest stb Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 The quality of bird is not in question its the fact that its the responsibility of the OWNER to take care of these birds I personally accept 10+ birds a year from people that have found them and yes it is usally the same answer when I contact the owners that they dont want the bird back which I understand but the problem is it makes us ALL look bad when these birds arent PROMPLY taken care of I was not saying i dont want the bird back . I mean i dont want it back in a box unless it was a non fancier and they did not no how to feed it then i would send for it . most decent bird will home with a bit of rest a feed and drink. I reported a pigeon a few weeks ago which was in a 300ml race. unfortunatly i am only 25 mls from start of race, Tellephoned number on wing stamp and was told im an old age pensioner and dont want the bird back. I said no problems and the guy said just before hanging up your about the 7th person whos foned about the pigeon in the last to weeks so im not sending for it. IHAVE HAD TO SEND FOR IT EVERY YEAR SINCE IT WAS A YEARLING. no skin of my nose but as it was double rubbered and 6 year old thot someone might be looking for it
