thomasd Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Does anyone know how much it would cost for one of these gps
GREENGRASS Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 i was looking at the gem site and they have a gps system for £125 i think it was also some video clips showing how it works, shows birds height and speed at various points along the route home very interesting.
just ask me Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 i think most will be surprised at the speeds in which a pigeon reaches when we hear of speeds of pigeons pigeons doing over 60 mile an hour or faster even it will be even going faster as no pigeon flies in a dead straight line home also id imagine a lot will be suriped on the line of flight that birds actually use :-/
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 hello, I present myself, AHAZZAM YOUSSEF, Moroccan pigeon fancier, the city of Inzegane, and here is our site with the experiments pigeon GPS in the south of Morocco, for more rensignements, http://www.amscc.fr.gd/Pigeon-GPS.htm thank you Really enjoyed that, just confirms many things inc how the pigeons will follow the coast line. Great music atbir36
meridklt Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 There are two films on Brian Wall's Gem Supplements web site showing the tracks he obtained from the GPS he sells and which are then viewed in Google Earth. The test he did over 3 miles of open water at Hayling Island is really interesting. They can both be viewed here http://www.gemsupplements.com
Guest dogeon Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Does anyone know how much it would cost for one of these gps thats what i was asking كم كلÙØ©
pjc Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 The best GPS would be one that transmits real time so it can be followed on its journey, you could track its progress on race day and know when it was likely to be home or where it had stoped.
