Dont need tp darken for that long.( 6 - 8 weeks ) Problems arise if you do it for longer!!!!

If wanting as old bird National pigeons, fly naturally with ybs.Think about your best distance birds over years and you will realise that they were not darkened as ybs. There are always the exceptions to this rule........

well this is what i am goin to do this year let my young birds go throw the dark with out letting them out they are goin to spend there 8 hours in the avery with a bath everyday becuase i was talking to possibly the best young bird flyer in liverpool and he was telling me whilst i was training mine last year his where in his avery 4 weeks before the firt race and i was training mine and when the racing started he was just kiking *expletive removed* everyweek thinkibluemine out

i bred in dec lastyear and dint put em on antill 1st april and mine didnt shoot flight 2 the end

i did the light system last yr mate thats why it all went horrible wrong they had chucked their flights and come the first race they was all pushing 9th and 10th primary flights which stopped me from entering into the first races

i hadnt worked out the lights propley when i weaned them i should have put them on lights then but i didnt so for the first few wks of weaning they was on natrual darkness hrs which was the cause of them not chucking the lot on time for the first races

i tried it and failed so im doing what i now and that will be darkness this yr and all the ybs will be going over the water

yeh mate read it but didnt do it as was told this would cause far to much damange

 

was told you should never pull any flights wing or tail on ybs
