Guest Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Even though I wanted to go up on the bike today ;D the misses insisted on taking me but didn't get up there until 6. In the trap were two birds, couldn't see them until I went in the loft and opened it. One of my two Barcalona birds in decent nick with both rubbers on and 17 my good cock, flown well down two rubbers on but OK, was I pleased to see him. Both birds libd on the same day 150 miles apart the longer at 8.30, the shorter at 1.45. Could they have met up and come home together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????
Guest Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 its a great feeling when good birds work home cheers you right up ;) ;)

wayne77 Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Well done Alan great news.....hope I get few favs back as well.....been one of those years :-/
Guest Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Thanks guys, Frazer yeah 17 is my favourite, he is class above anything I have, a pigeon I think good enough to win the section from Tarbes, no doubt it's my fault he didn't come, don't know why but next year if I can get him right I'll try and make sure he's 100%. It's been a tough racing year Wayne, hope you get some back.
wayne77 Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 went ok early on but as distance increased so did losses.....bit the distance was still withing birds capabilities. I think maybe too many quick easy races early on :-/.....also in own loft myself to blame. Been some poor weather too in June/July. Hope 2010 prep goes well Alan......starange thing is me and frazer only just talking about 17 unaware this thread was up

Hope 2010 prep goes well Alan......starange thing is me and frazer only just talking about 17 unaware this thread was up It would have been sad I have nothing out of 17. when he did so well as a yearling I promised a very good friend in Ireland the first pair out of him this year, which I duly sent (and was delighted too he's a real gent!) and last year 17 had a pair of l/b as a reward which I sold on here and Frazer bought. I ceertainly won't be taking anything from him now, he's got his hen with him though. Next year I shall definatley have a pair, will have to see how he recovers, he is imo a dual purpose pigeon that will breed his like so if he's not up to it would put him to stock! Just so dissapointed that I obviously couldn't have had him right, he's never made a mistake!!
Guest Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 A photo of 17 taken today whose perfromances can be found under lot1 of the POB support auction on the for sale thread, and the Barcelona cock today, he has previously scored from Saintes and won from St Malo taking 5th combine (I think, haven't got the details to hand)
