Depends if your floating the eggs to other pairs if so I would let them lay 5 times, float the eggs and then let the pair raise the final round to keep them interested. But if they are rearing their own young no more than 3 rounds.

Two rounds. The second is for others normally. This year I am trying to see if they will be any good at widowhood. They will have loads of training and possibly 2 races and then they will be subject of strict selection. Then it will be widowhood to the coast. I will expect them to race every week and pick up results as  they go. So it will be fingers crossed for me.
