Guest Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I have had a bird reported in Derby by Scarsdale veterinary hospital,i wondered if there is any member who lives in that area, who would be willing to collect it for me and determine its condition. The person whom i spoke to obviously does not know much about pigeons and as a result is pretty vague as to its condition. The bird is a squeaker, lost off the loft ,i intend to make arragements for its return, but it would be nice to know if it is in a condition to survive the journey. thanks Billy Mclaren.

Guest Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 yes carl is kindly helping me out, thanks again
Guest Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 my thanks once again to carl for going out of his way to help with the above. unfortunately the shu made a mistake with the ring number when reporting it to me and as it turns out they omitted the prefix s(solway),so the bird wasn"t actually mine. however i have today managed to make contact with the owner from dumfries, and passed on the story and carl's contact number. carl has agreed to look after the bird meantime and i trust the actual owner will be getting in touch with carl soon to make the necessary arrangements for the return of his bird. Thanks again for your help Carl. Billy Mclaren
carlsberg Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 sad news the bird died earlier today was not putting on any weight but was eating and drinking fine
pjc Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 being a squeaker and having flown that distance possibly scared it probably suffered exhaustion. Well done for trying to help.
