Hi there!  I recenly started doing some research into the world of pigeon racing after seeing racing breeds for sale in a game bird catalog.  As I do my homework (the thought of the pigeon racing seems adicting for some reason!) I was wondering how old a purchased pigeon can be - and still be safe to let if fly from your loft?  The pigeons in the catalog are 5 weeks old.  If purchased, would they have to be kept confined to the loft, or is that still young enough that they would adapt to their new loft as "HOME" and it would be safe to let them fly?  As I said, complete newbie question, and since the books I ordered haven't arrived yet, thought I might continue my research!

Thanks!

Mike

Mcliff--You really need to find some pigeon Flyers around Brockton for help/advice.

Starting  with pigeons is not as easy as you think.Call or check the AU  web site for a club near you.

Thanks Don.  I went to the AU site earlier and filled out the Find A Club section.  I know there are two listed in a nearby town.
