Guest bigda Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 hall if you where to go down the west you need to be well down to give the birds a chance of getting home as they need to be strung out, for if they come up in a big batch they are nailed, thats is why the racing just now only lets a few bird through at a time like a basket full then drys up, then another few get through, the birds keep trying to get through but Percy keeps them shepherded in, the birds might make 6 attempts for home then have ran there self down, and dehydrate go to ground, or get picked of, a thousand Percy's all just wanting one pigeon, in and around the lake district and thats what the public go to watch in the park 8 am till 5 pm feeding time for percy
Guest JPH Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 west this year you bet your money on it. A would rather no fly than go down there. Hal you must be a member of the rspb encouraging fanciers to send there birds down there to increase the percy population in cumbria :-/ :-/Think theres a hidden rspb agenda here :o ??) ??)
Guest JPH Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 yep, they where some birds, and where flying against 15,000 doos then dident matter to them out and home ;D Danny think if you look back old results for telfer you will find there were over 30,000 birds in some of the races he won back then ;)

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Danny think if you look back old results for telfer you will find there were over 30,000 birds in some of the races he won back then ;) Think it was 1982 and you'll find the highest birdage Lanarkshire had at that time or any time for that matter would have been 12,000
