Guest strapper Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Hmm im looking for advice on how to get my pigeons used to me and come to me ??? i dont have them yet but will on monday but i would like advice befor hand thanks dont run b4 you can walk....i would say best way is for you to get used to your birds than they get used to you...this i would advise anyone new to them. it would other way round if youve had them b4....ur see what i mean when you get them. get yourself some peanuts(fit for human type). throw some down to them but not too many at 1st...some small seed type will also help....dont over feed!!!
pjc Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 if they are youngbirds, sit on the floor with them when you feed them, few grains at a time and they'll soon start coming to you for the food and be all over you. Some birds are naturaly quieter than other though!
ste63home Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 right ok thanks what happens if i get them and they fly away from me when i enter the fight is this normal untill they are used to me
edwards Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 wait till they settle in mate now if there only babys your getting make sure you keep them on beans peas and tears for the first few weeks and break the feeding into mornings and evenings an oz and a quarter maybe each hlf oz in the morning rest in the evening but take your time you will get it in the end when you wean them onto a race mix an oz each a day is plenty same morning and evening .
