kev43 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 I am sure there are and I believe the optimum is 60-65 % I read that somewhere. nearly rite,,, the humidity need 2 b no lower then 45% and no higher then 65% if it is higher the dampness is gettin in2 ur loft i have put airvents along the bottom ov our loft with shutters inside so we can play about wi it over the winter mths 2 get it right but u can only do this when weather is really damp b4 racin season starts in 2010,, u cud also place a pot ov salt on the floor ov ur loft and see how that goes if it goes damp then humidity is wrong but if it stays dry ur ventilation is spot on hope this helps
stevebelbin Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 You will find it impossible to keep the humidity within the parameters in this country, without electric fans and heating etc. I had it all in my loft and it was hard work. Its funny, mine performed best when I only had eaves ventilation, with no lower vents at all, no fans and no heating. Obviously the loft had to be kept dust free by rigorous cleaning. If you buy "The Flying Vet" there is a good section in there on Humidity!
