alex wight Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 What is the best one on the market, for price and operation??? I had one on my last loft, and need a replacement, any ideas???
Guest Owen Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Why not use an electric fence unit. Cats can never get used to it. It works with deaf cats. It works with other animals. It never sleeps. And it will not annoy the neighbours. Finally, and I like this bit, you can switch it off for long periods after it has trained the local cats. I have offered you this idea because I can never trust the onces that give off the sounds. That is because I know of quite a few cases where they have not worked. I am sure that determined, or is that hungry, cats will bypass them.
pjc Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 tail to earth and ear to live works well!
gorsy bank lofts Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 electric fence every time (guarenteed
alex wight Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 I looked at the electric fence, couldnt get a price on the internet, i,ve to call the suppliers for a price. I am aware that there are deaf cats and the alarm wouldnt work, which is no good obviously. I,ll look into the fence though. Thankd for the comments though much appreciated.

Guest IB Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I got one from B&R good few years ago, called Animalchaser, pretty cheap £20, but pretty limited operation, 50 feet, so doesn't cover the whole garden. I use it to create a sound barrier along the full length of the front of the loft to stop cats going in the open door. They would need to cross that barrier and so far, so good. Frequency alternates 16KHz to 23KHz variable emission to prevent animals becoming used to it. Does dogs, cats, squirrels, rodents. Quite fancy the one that senses motion and squirts a jet of water. Not sure how I would avoid get soaked though. As others advise, electric fence appears tops. Would go for that if I needed improved protection.
THE FIFER Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 the water one is good toput out at night, but remember to shut it off before you go out you can tell if something been there as you see all the water, they dont come back for a second soak
