scrapyard , car fan's will run for ever & a day , wire them up to a 12v transformer , a voltage  reduction switch to slow them down a bit , fit a timer , you have endless options .

its hard to get any thing with a motor in as with the price of copper got thought the roof you can get good money at the scrap yard for them and batteries so you will have to pay top price for them

dont forget the amps need to run a car fan i think its 10a to run 1 so if you have a transformer rated 12v 5amp it wont run at full speed and proberly burn out the transformer

im currently building a ventilation with computer fans rated at 12v 0.25amps each fan so my power supply will be 12v 2amp so i can run up to 5 fans without burning my power supply out i will also hook them up to a thermostat set to 21celcuis then the fans will kick in

I won't get to tech here , ( ohms  law ) will come into play here , WAV / VAR , FIT a dwell switch / dwell angle + amptude regulator , like the fan control for your heater in the car . it will sort the speed . Set at 3-4 amp will give enough draw in the avg 12x6 sect , forget the batt side , just hard wire , with a 12v transformer , as i said , you can do all sort's ,( ie ) timer's , light foto cell's , thermal switche's , humidity sensor , the world is your oyster,,,,,have fun

here's a guy on the money , its just the job , if you don't want to go hokking & poking around scrapper's , he ain't messed about , fair play , it cost a bob or two for the fan , but he's a happy chappy , but the real nice thing about this is  , he can add allsorts's of thing's to his system , brillaint , i have an friend ( not to many ) ;D his loft is a railway carraige , yes , a whole 1 , he has 2 fan's from  volvo truck's 1 at either end , that switch on every 30min's for 2 min's , its a wind tunnel , the bird's take a strong grip on the perche's when they here it winding up ;D
