The majority of it is going across the Grampian and Cairngorm mountain ranges so I doubt it will do a lot but we are already covered with them in central Scotland

in Canada these thing are not allowed, as electricity  runs to ground, in the case of a fault there for, and it is the Indian natives,  that forced this issue,   they say  they should  run under ground, but in Britain,   money talks and  its the easy way out  for them,  bugger any thing else, and have a cheek when they have the monopoly on the cost of electricity, as if i had a generator that could supply the  whole of the town and i wanted to use it and use the  same  amount of fuel to keep it going for my use,  and should a  neighbor or a few more people  want to use it  i would  be  forced  to charge here the going rate  or from a wind mill is that not a scandal that we tolerate in this country   :(

I know the Enquiry probably considered it, but these pylons are crossing some fairly exposed areas, they're carrying cables nearly 200 feet above the ground. When wind brings down cables just a dozen feet off the ground Hydro take for ever and a day to repair them. Wonder what the costs of repair & maintenance and loss of service to customers will be over the project lifetime.

They have ski lift cables 200 feet obove the ground for years but the pylons won't be that high it's funny the ones that are doing all the moaning want to get electricity and save the highlands but not the planet :-/

Pylons will be 213ft high and is there not an oil pipeline running underground from the North of Scotland to Grangemouth?
