I can see where your coming from, but I dont think you can put youngbird losses down to either one breed/strain or where that strain was bred by or purchased from.It does not matter whether you paid mega bucks for them or they were gifted to you, we in the UK have many contributory factors affecting our youngbirds and this has been going on since the mid 70's all we seem to do is complain about the losses.What we have to start doing is to put investment into the scientific research of the health of our birds and stop giving our monies away to charities each year.Look in your BHW if you don't believe me look at all the top pigeon men calling it a day, lets stop the rot now!before its too late.I leave you with a thought the Belgiums have sponsored the University of Ghent to carry out research in the health of their pigeons, what have the british fanciers? Nobody.
