Community websites

I was disappointed to read that Richard had given up running this site after all the effort that has gone into developing, setting it up and maintaining it.

 

I'd made a friend of mine - not into pigeons -  aware of this site recently because of his involvement in webwork. His particular interest is in community websites, forums etc. He has been presenting Pigeonbasics to various bodies as a good example of a community website that actually works... and it does to a great extent. You only have to log on any day to see the same names online, the numbers growing and the many helpful sharing posts to appreciate how it does work

 

There will always be the small element who cant help but resort to acrimony and sh!tstirring to make them feel good about themselves. It is a great shame when relatively good sites like this are degraded and spoilt by the very small minority.

 

My best wishes go to Vallance and the Fifer who have taken this job on and who will, doubtless, have to endure all sorts of criticisms along the way.

 

I may not post often but I always drop in most days and enjoy the site. Long may it continue.

I have not been here very long but i am log in in around 20 times a day, from home or from my mobile while at work.

I find the site very addictive.

 

I am enjoying it, today's site and the way its run is fine and you`ll get no complaints from me.

 

Had some great offers of help from complete strangers.

 

Well done to the people who built the site and good luck to those who run it in the future, Times change and some dont like changes.
