p charlton Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 i am building my young bird cage ive not got a lot to do it is 10foot buy 3foot wide and 4foot high. it as two 5foot sections with a little door so they can have full run of the place it also as a wire floor to cut the cleaning down. i am going to put some perchs in soon but dont know what to use i was going to use 3,2 spares across the back but i think they may crap on the ones on the floor. i could make some box perches but want to avoid the cleaning due to the lung which be the best to use
p charlton Posted February 8, 2010 Author Report Posted February 8, 2010 dont like them you have to clean them and they mess on the other birds plus some birds dont like them
Guest bakes Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 only other thing is a length of 2b1 or 2 b2 piece of wood the length of the loft.
owen101 Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 box perches , v perches , long piece of wood across like in aviaries
p charlton Posted February 8, 2010 Author Report Posted February 8, 2010 only other thing is a length of 2b1 or 2 b2 piece of wood the length of the loft. i have some 3b2 but due to not being very big would they mess on the ones on the floor
Guest bakes Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 or you could make some box perchs and the bottom take the wooden bottom away and just have strong mesh all droppings will fall through.
owen101 Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 could always make some v perches but make the v bigger so dropping dont fall on birds below
Guest Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 how many ybs will be in the cage Paul ?? andy.
p charlton Posted February 8, 2010 Author Report Posted February 8, 2010 how many ybs will be in the cage Paul ?? andy. i think about 20 it is very open
blackdog Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 i would use poles mate, no work involved and i dont think they will crap much on others, a little bit of ... on them is better than... your lungs up, jmo
Guest bakes Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 i have some 3b2 but due to not being very big would they mess on the ones on the floor like this i mean but move the wood strips back more when you add hight so then you should have a gap from the perch below leaving the droppings to fall through the mesh
