Finding it hard

Hi any one else like me , split cocks and hens up at the weekend , so the cocks are now on widowhood . when they was paired and breeding i was in the loft all the time cleaning feeding checking on them , and i so want to check on the cocks now but i know i have to leave them to rest and to get them in a routine but im finding it hard not to go in there lol il have to lock my self in soon ,

rob why not spend the time with your y/bs by this i mean stin the loft with them hand feed tit bits they will become very tame  and you will be amazed at how they respond JMO

i do lol my young birds are allways very tame and will perch on my head and shoulders when i walk in the loft as  i allways hand feed mine when there still in the nest then they see me as a third parent then its less stress on them when i wean them , only trouble is most of my hens try and mate with me they have only been parted from there mates a couple of days and there all ready droping there wings and brushing up to me lol

then you doing something right but you might need to box them  or a pair of old hens nesting on floor will stop them pairing

as they will get chased off the floor

The best way to deal with this is to get yourself a job so that you are away all day. I have to see to my birds early and I do not see them again until I get home. That was what made me want to fly widowhood in the first place.

You are right about one thing though, widowhood cocks need to rest.

ive got a stock pair in there so hope fully he will kepp them off the floor as hes very aggresive over his bowl

if only it was that easy to get a job lol , and i know they need rest lol its more important than any thing to wins racers
