Jacobasmith Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 I got 2 pairs for breeding yesterday to add to my loft which already has 2 pigeons in. Walked into the loft this morning (i havent placed nestboxes, bowls, or nest material in there) and there is a single egg in the corner, without a pigeon sat on it. What do i do????
Guest grizzler Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 i would throw it away m8...and wait for the birds to lay in nest bowls
Jacobasmith Posted March 22, 2010 Author Report Posted March 22, 2010 Ok thanks guys, Any idea why they arent sitting?
blackdog Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 strange loft mate, give them time to get used to it
Guest grizzler Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 Ok thanks guys, Any idea why they arent sitting? they would sit, once the second egg is laid..but take the advice given ;)
Jacobasmith Posted March 22, 2010 Author Report Posted March 22, 2010 Im not sure, but it could even be the pair that was in my loft before. The cock (from what i've heard) should be sitting in the day, but is very young. This is probly why it is not sat on.

Jacobasmith Posted March 22, 2010 Author Report Posted March 22, 2010 So is it wise to throw the egg away, if i still have a chance of sitting?
marmite Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 watch and see if any birds go near it it might b the 1st egg if a pair go near just put some straw in theyll soon build a nest round it but maybe 1 of your new pairs was in egg when u picked them up then chuck it as they wont sit it as the loft is new to them clive
