retired Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Would that be hatching May? Just wandering if I buy a pair of birds now if I will be able to take a round from them for races this yr? You will be fine mate - I still have 2 pairs of stock i havent paired yet (infact there isnt a loft up for them yet!) and there young will be in at the 2nd race and if last years young are any indication on late birds they will do the programme.
Guest mick bowler Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 I weaned 2 end of June that were raced end August.
fletch Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 i always find that later young birds seem to learn quicker IMO

north wales novice- Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 bred in may go all the way. a good old saying , very true , and well worth remembering. andy.
Wizzer Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 get a pencel-paper-calander----bird should be 4 months old before first race. Where does it say a bird has to be 4 months? Had 6 youngsters from Louella last year on 14th June. First 3 weeks in August. 4 of the 6 flew 55 miles, 107 miles, 163 miles way under 4 months even after the third race.
