Not laid yet??

Hi all,

My 3prs all laid their first round eggs within a couple of days of eachother, all youngsters reared ok and have been away from the parents a little over a week now.

2 of the 3 pairs have laid their second round last weekend but my third hen hasnt laid, she has built a nest and her droppings are getting larger, she spends most of the day sat on her bowl but no egg.  

Is this anything I should be worried about or is she just taking her time?

She looks fine, not moulting and is active enough when she is off the bowl

How old is she some take more time than others and you don't say how far behind she is

She is an 09 bird

she will lay mate had same problem with one of mine she was 17 days late but was ok but she was a 04 but giver her time will be ok

i got an 07 hen that will lay arond 4 eggs a year 2 at start and if lucky 2 at end the rest of the time she goes broody and sits the bowl tight as does the cock so i take eggs from the racing loft and let her rear them as i only have 1 round out of racing loft.

i have a pair out there the same it took her a month to lay her second round from when i took the young away but she just laid her 2nd egg yesterday shell be fine pal
