update on latebreds i sent yesterday

i sent 7 birds yesterday i sent 2 that raced last year and 5 that have nevr raced my fistr bird homed in at just under 2 hrs but bad trapping cost me over 10mins she raced last year my 2nd bird was a 2yr old bourgman hen never any further than 50 miles and she homed at 2 hrs 38mins and my 3rd bird was my grizzle she homed at 4 hrs and have not seen anything since missing 3 yearling cocks and a 2 yr old hen but chuffed to get at least 1 back that never raced so waitig on 4

where was your race ? theres 40 mins between your first and second bird was it a sprint race ?

Doesn't matter how anyone else got on i'd be gutted if my birds 1st race had bad returns & so spread out. They birds have run into trouble somewhere along the route. I know it was 119 miles for them but even so i would expect them all home in an hour or so. I'll have at least 8 latebreds away this weekend to 80 miles, they're all being trained from 30 miles, ck's one day hens next, i fully expect to see them all back sharpish but if its a tightener i would still expect them back in race time. I take them every year and treat them the same as the rest when it comes training/racing time. I will lose more than half this season but the ones left will have 500 miles in them as 2 yr olds. Done it for years. I promise to post how i get on, and i tell it how it is, a red neck is nothing i can't handle. lol

ye might still get a few phil .. ive got 10 out of 11 now and one came back shot in the crop ! missing an 06 pigeon that was a stock bird i broke never raced before so dont care about it

well i got a 4th bird back on the sunday at  20 00 it took 32 hrs to home but only 5 or 6 flights on each wing and some cover flights missing so obviously hawked another bloke in our club had 1 on monday or sunday also ripped too shreads and as pearse said he had 1 shot so whos to say how many people were shooting our birds during a race but have 4 now 2 that raced last year and 2 that never raced 2 yr old and a yearling im happy with that
