A couple of hundred members on here at £5 a time would be pushed to buy a trailer let alone run it around the country, you have to get the unions involved and charge every member. To be honest I haven't a clue how many members there are in UK and Ireland, but you've really got to start talking those figures to even start off. RSPB 1 million members!

 

yes i agree but if "we" start it of ,and word starts to spread to other sites then to the mags what will happen then? maybe jack ,maybe it will work ,and yes the unions should levy every member,as for the rspb membership at 1 million [most of which will have no idea what their money is spent on] a little bit of education might work,like most "big" mobs they hate adverse publicity

As well as a trailer I would go down the road of a full page or half page advertisement in a National paper regarding the facts of these Raptors,join forces with songbird people,tippler men,roller men, gamekeepers,landowners,but first of all educate them in the facts,regarding  the overpopulation of these Raptors and the detrimental effect they have on our pigeons,and song birds,educate the public as to where their donations regarding songbirds are going,to the already overpopulation of the predators thats killing them,with a great big picture of a sparrowhawk,stripping a thrush,should go well with the cornflakes,let the public know they are being duped by the R.S.P.B.

this would be a great idea if we could get a couple of good videos made showing from the birds pairing to flying to racing and another showing the hawk attacks ie sparrow hawk eating the bird alive

This is a marvellous idea,if its done proper,a professional film made and sold/given to interested T.V media showing what has been suggested above,but with the human angle being paramount,use the facts compiled by R.S.P.B which are very contradictory,and show little Johnny/Susan enjoying all aspects of their birds,with the almost eventual outcome their favourite being torn asunder by a perigrine/sparrow,with them waiting at their loft for it,and its youngsters in nest bowl,its a sure fire winner if you want to educate the public, I would like to see a three person committee,spearheading this,my own choice would be Chris,Rose,and Dave aka Invalidusername,if they are agreable,we have got hold of something here,keep it going.
