Guest IB Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 If you are having visits from a sparrowhawk on a regular / daily basis like this, you cannot leave the birds out unattended - even when you are cleaning out. You also need to break the cycle: 'kill or near miss - back next day, same time' by keeping the birds in for at least the next day.

I'm sure I read this in the BHW just recently ???, a bit from Linda Brookes, What you were reading Archie was that a research project is to take place which will trial the relocation of troublesome sparrowhawks. Have to say that I have been on the 'Tooth & Claw' website and from what is being said there, we are maybe 'being sold another pup'. At least one member there says it won't work: the bird will come back to its home patch again, or another will move in to take its place.
Guest IB Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 she was back the day no ---- oot tho There's a research project coming up trialling the relocation of troublesome sparrowhawks. Wee Peg should apply to Linda Brookes, SHU Secy., for his loft to be included in it.
