Guest Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Maybe you should get another hobby... Great username, nice first post. Its not me taking the pictures, which amazes me as to why they there is overall denial of this pair taking racing pigeons when it is obvious they are, even the list of 46 species that were prey last year is minus racing pigeon!!
pjc Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Slightly off topic but if everybody agreed to keep their birds confined to the loft for 1 year, no excercise, no racing etc what would be the impact to the peregrine population?
Guest numpty01 Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 if everyone used the jacket what would the effect on them be then ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guest Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Don't want to p*** on anyones parade here but look how many visits that webcam boasts, nearly 300,000 when I looked. :-/ That allows them to boast to Joe Public that there must be interest in the birdies and how cute they are. Pigeon Fanciers should make a point of never visiting these webcams so it shows the councils to be wasting their time spending money putting them up in the first place. Mind you I for one am watching just to see the babies take their first test run and drop like a stone to the floor. > > >
pjc Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 watching it to see which lucky fancier is providing breakfast today!

I suggested this a long time back. If they rely on racing pigeons that much the impact would be massive! And imagine what the impact would be if all were confined for 2 years? Maybe the RSPB would listen then. Maybe it is something that should be discussed just to get the RSPB to listen.
pjc Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 why discuss it Mick, the RSPB won't listen! If we just all done it, and it would have to be everybody the imact would be massive.
Guest numpty01 Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 ;)if everyone used the jacket what would the effect on them be then ;D ;D ;D ;D yes pjc it would be great impact
cowman Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 i wonder if we get reconised as a sport if that will give us a little more leaverage as i`m sure if a bop hit horses while racing something would be done .

Guest Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 sounds great in theory, but how many more people would pack up after a year or even 2 years off? a great deal would im sure! Pete probably no more than those that will pack up due to losses from raptors already.
pigeonpete Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Pete probably no more than those that will pack up due to losses from raptors already. suppose not, but like has been said everyone would have to do it, and im sure not everyone would, great idea though, but it will never happen im afraid, pigeon people dont like singing off the same hymm sheet, just my opinion.
Guest Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 watching it to see which lucky fancier is providing breakfast today! Know what your saying, just think blanking sites like this would give less attention because mark my words these people are boasting that its the general public viewing these webcams not us lot. >
pjc Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 very suprised she's not gone hunting! Maybe everybody's kept the birds in this morning.
pigeonpete Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 very suprised she's not gone hunting! Maybe everybody's kept the birds in this morning. im sure there will be 1 there for dinner phil!
jimmy white Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Bob have a close look at the prey she got, thers a green ring without a doubt! wonder if this pic was sent to newspaper explaining what is happening to our racing pigeons ,,,,after flying hundreds of miles to get home, they are eaten alive,,, and that this is happenning all over the country as the perigrine population is exploding , , now that the song bird population is down [by the hawks] they are now on to the racing pigeons ,,or a pic sent to the s,o,s [save our song birds] this group is mostly made up of dis-gruntled rspb x members who are sick of their lies the public are allways on the rspb side,, this is whats needed to tell the truth,, and that pigeons, during the war, saved countless lives ,,[ive pm,dyou mick]
pigeonpete Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 its on the feed again! dont know what, only just looked and its nearly all gone!!
jimmy white Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 that pic,, says a thousand words,, more of them would be helpfull,,which there will be > trying to put the shoe on the other foot, re, the public and the rspb , to me, this is whats needed >

Also too much business involved now. Going back to people leaving the sport, i'd say you'll soon see who the real genuine fanciers would be, i wonder how many of the money men would still be around?
