gorsy bank lofts Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 THEY TURNED UP AT MY DOOR 1ST REACTION WAS TO RIP HER HEAD OFF. INSTEAD I INVITED HER IN AND FILLED HER IN ON A FEW FACTS ON BOP WE ALL KNOW WHAT THEY ARE,PLUS RSPB RELEASING IN UN-NATURAL SETTINGS (INLAND TOWNS & CITIES) AND THE DAMAGE THEY ARE DOING,SHOWED HER SOME PHOTOS OF DEAD DAMAGED BIRDS. SHE HAD NO IDEA OF THE IMPACT THEY WERE HAVING AND VOWED TO RESIGN AND NEVER COLLECT FOR THEM AGAIN. I THINK THIS HAS A BETTER EFFECT THAN ALIENATING THEM AT LEAST SHE WILL NOT SIGN ANYONE UP AGAIN. REGARDS LYNDON
mealybug Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Good idea Lyndon, keep a supply of horrible photos to show them, it might just put them off collecting again.

REGARDS LYNDON guy came round here a couple of years ago begging for same ,offered guy a quick cuppa and then EDUCATED him into the history of pigeon keeping and what these cats of the sky are doing to them also made it my point in telling him while he is going round the doors begging there is someone sitting high up on there fat lard a---- doing he haw apart from taking home a large salary and that was enough to convince this guy not to chap doors and beg as that all they are PROFESSIONAL BEGGARS

Guest scoobybob Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 They came round my place a few months back, (2 girls) I took them round the back and into my loft and showed them the birds. I had about 12 tipplers left at that time. I told them I started the season with over 30 birds but her hawks had ate them. She said "my hawks?" Told her the rspb were protecting the hawks and the hawks were eating everything in sight. We came out the loft and Percy was flying way up high overhead I asked them if they wanted to see the pigeons get attacked, but they said no don't let them out now. They were students earning a few bob by getting folks to sign a donation contract. Of course I put myself down for £2 a week and hope the rspb gave the girls a few quid for getting another member.
