There was a group set up at the time to look after the Trafalgar Square pigeons, here's the link:- http://www.savethepigeons.org/ You will be interested to know that the pigeons got used to the hawks from day one. When a pigeon was taken by the hawk, the others didn't fly off in a panic, they simply moved a couple of dozen yards away to another part of the Square. In my opinion its the pigeons not being fed that's the real reason behind the decline in their numbers.
