DOVEScot Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 i think she said the logans are mixed with the tumblers and thats why she cant let the older ones out as racers would disappear, but, the tumblers might stay !!!! or tumblers could get carried away from area by logans before realising there lost !!!!! Ok, cheers Bewted, at least one of us knows what we are talking out ;D ;D ;D

883girl Posted January 29, 2008 Author Report Posted January 29, 2008 dovescot,,,,i know where she got some of the white adults from as i got some from same place too,,,,,believe me,if she let them out, they would be gone like rockets back to original owner !!!!! Ted's right the first ones are my logans which i am keeping as stock birds, the ones that we need to remove are 6 white hens of unknown breed. People are saying tumblers but they are more likely to be rollers crossed with garden doves apparently - who knows i don't!!!!! So i guess it's anyones guess what they are but i cannot guarantee they are rollers dovescot, sweet looking birds, but none the less no idea what they are ;D
oldguy Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 this company may have a service which would identify what type of birds you have, you can chat to them on line http://www.dnasolutions.co.uk/dna-testing-sexing.htm

I will post some pics to you in the next couple of days of My racers, fantails and rollers and you will see the difference, and compare them to what you have It might not help but at least it's worth a try Dovescot

I will post some pics to you in the next couple of days of My racers, fantails and rollers and you will see the difference, and compare them to what you have It might not help but at least it's worth a try Dovescot Here are the pics or our birds as promised. You can see the difference in the heads. The racer is a lot more streamlined and the roller is more domed shaped. The fantail cross as it suggests is somewhere in between. Not exact but a fair guide to what kind you may have Beauty homers Rapido Busshaerts Fantail X Roller Barbary dove
883girl Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 Duncan, thanks for posting the pics. Looking at your pics we reckons that they are a cross between a fantail and a roller.
