valteng Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Hi pigeon friends... Does your racing pigeons needs to be a Blue Bar or Check. Does it have any advantage in our sport?
shotgun tim Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 as long as they have 2 wings, thats all matters.it doesnt matter abot colour
valteng Posted May 13, 2008 Author Report Posted May 13, 2008 so you mean tim color doesn't have any effect in racing pigeons? does it apply also with it's eyes? thanks
Guest Hjaltland Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Valteng, There are all sorts of theories regarding racing pigeons, 'wing theory' and 'eyesign', also 'throat theory' all having their followers and critics. There are lots of other views and beliefs about pigeons, that's what makes the sport so interesting and full of debate. For me I wouldnt have a red cheq in the shed - its just a long standing joke and a bit of fun. The most important thing is that you like your pigeons - how they handle, good quality feathering, good overall health etc. etc. and at the end of a race the 'feet theory' comes into play - first feet on the landing board on race day wins the race. Whatever theory you subscribe to - enjoy your pigeons . All the best
pjc Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Its a funny thing these pigeons! Always remember the following:- A good winner will never be, a bad colour, have a bad eye, have a bad throat etc etc but will always give you pleasure! Phil
cokacola Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 There's that dude with all the videos on expert village that has a video on his colour preferences: http://www.expertvillage.com/video/18526_homing-pigeons-color.htm I don't know how much truth there is in white feathers becomming burnt out quickly, or hawks picking off the white ones first - the latter seems logical though?
