Silverdale Lofts Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Ive been on this site ever since Richard opened it i usually keep a back seat and if there is anything i can add ill put it on the thread but im more happier sat reading all the interesting threads on the forum. Lots have caught my eye and one fancier has stood out on more than a few occasions Ransom 50. Firstly there were pics of is birds then he put the eyesign photos on what class these birds and eyes looked learning he only lived around 1 hour away we arranged for me to visit him on Saturday 25th october 2008. Arriving around 2pm i was greeted at the gate by what i can only decribe has someone you wouldnt want to meet on a dark night over 6ft and built like a sh** house brick wall hello my names Dean and this is my flying partner lofty. We went straight to the stock lofts where i was handed some top class stock birds everything about these birds were first class feathering balance eyesign couldnt fault anything and every stock bird was a van reet no other pigeons are housed at the lofts.I said to the lads last time ive seen top class van reets like these were at my friend Ian Snaiths loft in Teeside. Dean explained when ian snaith had is entire clearance sale they went to the sale and bought the best they could afford. We then went to look at the race team what a fantastic drop these pigeons have open fields to the front of the lofts and you can see for miles Dean was telling me they had 19 young birds come up the field spread out we should get a couple out these he said to lofty and was amased when all 19 dropped on the sputnick and in they took the first 13 in the club. They also sent one old bird to the channel and clocked it to win 2nd club 2nd fed. When i go visiting lofts i like to see what the fanciers have in the water and what corn they are feeding asking dean he said multi vits in the water and corn we pay £22 a bag from germany yes not a spelling mistake £22 you can see why these lads are good flyers the pigeons get the best has Dean said the pigeon will win but the man has to do all the work to get them to win ill end it there thanks Dean and Lofty for a great couple of hours at your loft all the best for 2009.
