Guest bakes Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 Another example was a few years ago i paid out big money for two pairs of birds from a top fancier anyway after 2 years they had bred nothing for me , i got talking to a big mate of mine who was interested in this strain and was looking to buy some in i told him he could have the two pair for nothing so he came and had them end result they have bred him 4 fed toppers ! he takes mickey out of me all time over them but again you pays your money you take your chance, what about the 25 cock we was speaking about other day had me in stitches ;D all the best.
jimmy white Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 i remember seeing birds for sale at £40 each,,, at a stall, at b/pool,,,,,, on the sunday when the stalls were packing in,, he had two hens left,, i offered him £20 for the two of them £10 each,, i only needed two hens to even the pairs,, one of these hens bred a 4th fed and a 9th fed,, talk about luck
rick Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 i have roland janseens and they have won for me and had rpra awards it not the birds is what you know of pigeons that will bring them to win here here... i agree...
mark Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 I HAD 8 r/janseens and only keept 1 out of them all the rest went on races hawk/wires/ or just lost :-/ doesnt that apply to most fanciers races hawk/wires/or just lost. ??)

john@formula 1 lofts Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 I wonder why premier stud are selling them all???
tjloft Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 Official is that they are outing sprint families to concentrate on middle/distance. Unofficial is that they cant compete on price with other RJ sellers.
john@formula 1 lofts Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 Or maybe they are not good enough did not seem many winners in the sale list in the book other then the 1 pair

Guest redlad24 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 just after arriving back from blackpool, my first time there i enjoyed it big time! even tho the girlfriend did a blunder of booking the hotel 2 miles away but anyway, I was at the rosieleigh auction yesterday, lot no 30 went for either 11 or £1200, some money for 1 bird, i suppose it has the pedigree behind it but still, i took my time and done some looking around and handled a lot, ended up getting a pai on sat for £85 and got a lovely busschaert cock yesterday evening for £25 only a 09, maybe he'll breed nothing but he took my fancy compared to a lot of dearer birds on other stalls!
Guest strapper Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 what ever you pay or didnt pay for a bird...you cant get out ...what nature didnt put in!
Guest Silverwings Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 went over to louellas to collect some of these with my brother ? he has never had an interest in pigeons before but the sight of these white grizzles completly hooked him they are now sitting the first nest in his loft , another new starter !!!, housed them at my loft four a few weeks till his set up was ready majority seemed a nice placid type did not do a lot for me i must admit ? then about 2 days before he moved them , i watched a young white grizzle cock g.son of this White Bandit go along the top perches and oust five or six two and three year olds twice the size of him ? teritorial or what ! needless to say he is the one that remained, he has so much fire and confidence going to take a longer look at him.....ray
Guest karl adams Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 i have been selling my young birds for 10 pounds each for the last 2 years and i have even given a fare few away i think 10 pounds is a fare price as it must cost more than that to breed them
gangster Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 i have been selling my young birds for 10 pounds each for the last 2 years and i have even given a fare few away i think 10 pounds is a fare price as it must cost more than that to breed them more than a fair price karl i hope that you got good feed back to there performances

Cobs Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Or maybe they are not good enough did not seem many winners in the sale list in the book other then the 1 pair That why they sold all their Van Loons as well? I've got a mate whose RJ's wiped the floor with his Vandenabeele's!
jimmy white Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 wee gaz [12 years old] was given free birds from nagid and big jim 45 both on the forum,,, this young lad races his own birds at his own house, knows every ring number etc ,has them very clean, very tame, and with these birds won the under 18 snfc trophie,,, ,same happened with young keiran, [but with different members] keiran also raced fantastic and won trophies as well,,,, its great to see members like this encouraging these young lads
john@formula 1 lofts Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 That why they sold all their Van Loons as well? I've got a mate whose RJ's wiped the floor with his Vandenabeele's! Hi Mate, Was not aware they had sold all there Van Loons in fact the web site says they are taking orders for 2010 y/b's from them. but you may well be right . I was not saying all RJ's are no good and i am sure plenty will win as there seems 1000's about at the moment some will win and win well. My observation was in there advert there did not appear to be many good winners other then from the 1 pair. i would have thought a top sprint family that they had sold plenty of y/b's from would have produced lots of winners and maybe they had and they did not put them in the advert or maybe they had not received the feedback from there customers. The fact Gangster rates them and many others i am sure means they are better then the advert would suggest. By the way i was not having a pop to promote my own birds. I was just stating what i could see from the advert. Thanks John
