W.D. Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Think the best one I heard was to keep it in a budgie cage in the house, even better if you have kids as they make more noise, and only feed it when it will eat its food in front of you,if it flaps about its not hungry enough yet. After a couple of weeks it will be no problem and looking forward to your attention.

Guest vander mungo Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Same colour of 'loft clothes' is a must, I think. Walk slowly amongst the birds, inside and outside the loft. Have them walk by you too. Talk to them all the time, in my opinion its your voice that exerts best control them, they do what you want even when they don't want to, and are not hungry.. I also have false ceilings which limit the headroom, and small sections 5 foot x 5 foot, which basically stops birds flying inside the loft, they can't really fly by me when I'm in there with them. Deep perches that the birds retreat into when you approach, and a hand held up in front of the box stops them trying to leave. Feed (and water) birds in their boxes. ib just covered all youll need to tame them down
Guest bigda Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 just throught there belly, if they want to play silly buggers then, who has the wining hand, doos that lissten to you are your doos, if they dont then they are someone elses doos.
jimmy white Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 thanks guys i will try peanuts agai once they get the taste of them, they will love them,, ,, best move slowly, around the loft, never "grab" birds,, time and patience spent with them,, speak to them,, once a bird takes a p. nut from your hand others will follow, then they will do this again, if kept peckish [not starving],, but best is starting off by taming them as yb,s , pigeons never forget, if frightened badly will be frightened birds,, but if tamed as yb,s and kept this way,,will always be tame ,,keep the birds unafraid of you, with patience and gentleness in the loft
